In 2007, I was looking to purchase an investment property in New York City. I was under a very tight timeframe in which to locate a property and close a transaction. I had moved from New York five years earlier and did not have any contacts in the real estate industry. Selling an apartment in NYC is complex and not something you do every day. It becomes even more difficult in a down market.
