Chelsea

Chelsea has a little something to make just about everybody happy.

WELCOME TO CHELSEA

Luxury high-rise buildings, world-class art galleries, and a thriving entertainment scene make Chelsea the perfect marriage between uptown ritz and downtown glam. In a neighborhood that's equal parts convenience and culture, Chelsea has a little something to make just about everybody happy.

AROUND THE BLOCK

CHELSEA:

A westside hub for art & culture.

Chelsea has consistently served as the setting for iconic pop culture moments with artists like Andy Warhol and Patti Smith living and working in the neighborhood. Now, Chelsea is home to world-famous retrofit architecture and some of the finest art galleries in the city.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Great nightlife and an easy commute to anywhere in Manhattan.

In Chelsea, everything you need is at your fingertips, especially when it comes to transportation. It’s conveniently located near a number of subway lines, the PATH train, and Penn Station.

Entertainment comes easy in Chelsea. The neighborhood has a wealth of bars and restaurants that cater to nightlife enthusiasts across the city.

THE LIFESTYLE:

Gallery openings, outdoor lounging, and a new place to discover around every corner.

Chelsea is home to numerous galleries, with the epicenter of the art scene out on 10th and 11th avenues.

Farther west you’ll find the West Side Highway, an idyllic path along the Hudson River that's frequented by runners, bikers and walkers.

It’s also one of the best places to take in a sunset in the city.

For foodies there’s Chelsea Market, which carries everything from live lobsters to gourmet cheeses.

Another popular destination is the High Line, where a set of old train tracks have been transformed into an elevated park.

In the summer, the walking path that spans from Gansevoort to 34th St. turns into a fun, festive boardwalk.

WHAT NOT TO EXPECT:

A quiet, residential area that caters to a more tranquil lifestyle.

In Chelsea, traffic can be loud, and streets are usually crowded with pedestrians during the day.

If you want to escape the crowds, try the more subdued West Chelsea past 9th avenue.

YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH:

The class and culture, minus the pretension.

Chelsea is a diverse neighborhood with a rich history of social activism and artistic expression. It welcomes neighbors of all kinds to add to its charm.
