Great for a day trip

Brooklyn Sail connect people with nature through the experience of Sailing. We use green, biodegradable and eco-friendly products.

We have over 2,000 reviews with a 4.96 average rating out of 5 stars in six full years of operation as seen on Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp, and others. And we charge the lowest rates with the best cancellation policy of any sailing tour company in the Manhattan area.

Our 34’ Catalina, Enchantress, has a large deck and a spacious cabin to make sure guests have plenty personal space to sit safely in the open air or inside.

We offer five different times daily—private groups or individual spots—and sailing lessons from the marina at Pier 5 in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

If you're thinking of chartering a boat in the Caribbean, then take time this summer to get your ASA ratings that will allow you to do a bare boat charter without a captain.

You can have fun while efficiently learning to sail.  If you don’t feel safe and aren’t having fun, you’re not going to learn and probably won’t continue with the sport.  We make sure you do.

We believe in emphasizing the “why” of things and then having you do them often.  Our students often compliment us on this – including many who come to us after not getting those “why’s” answered elsewhere.

We also believe in learning from mistakes, so we’ll let you do that whenever it’s safe – and that’s most of the time.  Thankfully, in the learn-to-sail environment, there are rarely any immediate consequences to mistakes.  Knock yourself out – make them!  We’ve got your back.

Join a low-key NYC Yacht Club

Miramar Yacht Club was founded in 1932 as a place for boating enthusiasts to enjoy an excellent Brooklyn sail, catch up with friends, take in the view or kick back and relax. Our members make Miramar Yacht Club so special — young and old, some new, some who learn how to sail at Miramar, some with long family histories at our yacht club, who work together to keep the club shipshape.
